Your own mimic panel, designed by you in your web browser and made to order by us.

Draw your track plan in the PanelWorks™ mimic panel designer, place your buttons and LEDs, and see your panel checked as you go. We engrave it, paint it if you would like us to, and send it to you.

Your panel can come with its own enclosure, sloping or flat: PanelWorks™ designs it around your panel automatically, and prices it with your panel.

What it is

A mimic panel made to your own design: an engraved panel face on an MDF backing, cut and engraved in our workshop. You design it in the PanelWorks™ mimic panel designer, in your web browser, and the designer shows you its price as you draw.

What you choose

  • Its size and layout. Any size up to 500 × 400 mm. Lay out the roads, points and crossings, the buttons and LEDs, and your labels; the designer checks that everything has the room it needs.
  • Painted by us, or by you. We fill the engraving with black and with any line colours you draw in, or leave it unpainted for you to paint yourself.
  • An enclosure, if you would like one. Choose sloping or flat and PanelWorks™ designs it around your panel for you: made to fit, cut from plywood chosen for your panel’s size, engraved with the MegaPoints logo front and rear, and supplied as a flat pack with illustrated assembly instructions.

Before anything is made

Once your order is paid for, your panel comes to our workshop to be checked. If anything needs putting right we tell you, and we send you its final proof: nothing is made until you have approved it. Your panel is then made to order and sent about 2–3 weeks from the date of your order.

Buttons, LEDs and System2 boards

They are not part of the panel. The designer lists exactly what your panel needs from our shop, to order separately if you want them.
